Kate's Christmas Dance

Kate went to her school Christmas Dance tonight. She is so beautiful. We had barely gotten the lights up on the Christmas tree when it was time for her to get ready to go. Kate said that she had a fun time.

Sledding

Today it snowed. We took the children sledding on a hill in a park near our home. It was grand. We took a ride up thru Little Cottonwood Canyon, up to the ski resorts of Snowbird and Alta. The snow was falling pretty hard there. We were able to try our tire cables out for the first time. They work, YAY!!! It was a little scary, but Tim is a great driver. We thought to sled there, but the snow was falling too hard and everyone was leaving, so we thought better for it and left too.

Park City

We took a drive up to Park City today. It was great. The kids loved the view. They were hoping to get to play in some snow, but alas, there just wasn't much, except for on the slopes. The ski slopes opened on Thursday and of course they are making snow especially for those skiers. We drove up to the Olympic museum, but didn't go in. We will save that for another time. We walked around the town of Park City and toured an art museum and went into a couple of cool shops. We even rode the Trolley. We had a fun time. Brandon said that it was the best Saturday of his WHOLE life.

Autumn is Upon Us!!

Mom and Don came to Utah for the weekend for a visit. We went to Ogden Canyon to see the Fall colors. It was rainy, but the weather held long enough for us to get some good photographs.

Halloween

Kate and her friend Daniel went to the Halloween dance at the High School. Kate went dressed as Little Dead Riding Hood and Daniel went as the Big Bad Wolf. Before the dance they helped out at the ward party. Daniel made so many little kids cry that he had to remove his hair and teeth. Can you believe that he does NOT have on a mask. Masks were forbidden for the dance, so they made this specifically for this dance. Great, huh?

Bingham Canyon Copper Mine

Today, we went to the Bingham Canyon Copper Mine in Herriman, Utah. It was very interesting to see the huge hole and mounds of dirt.

This is a tire from the huge dump trucks that are used in the mine.
