Christmas Day!

We had a great Christmas. This year I made our stockings and tree skirt. I looked online for a pattern for something that I thought I would like. I think that I found one that fits my personality just right. It is a strip quilt pattern. The tree skirt is identical to the stockings. Of course you can't see it here for all of the gifts covering it.
My friend, Deborah Combs, stitched the names on the stockings for me. She has such talent, and of course the machine. Hehehehe.....

We have been so blessed.

Kate's Play ~A MidSummer Night's Dream~

Kate performed in a school play this weekend. She played the part of a Fairy, 'Mustardseed'. It was her "Stage Debut". Kate impressed the Drama teacher with her acting.
Kate had many fans in the audience both nights and even during the dress rehearsal. Kate makes me proud!

I DID IT! Yes, I admit it. I DID IT!

Okay So here is the thing, I received this email from someone at work. Now everyone knows that I am not even close to being a Democrat, but I got a laugh out of it anyway, because it would be alright with me to be the cause of Obama's loss. But I would hope that it would be because I actually voted FOR John McCain rather than just not showing up to vote for Obama.* Warning~ Beeped language~*

HOWL~O~WEEN!

On Saturday, October 25th we had our annual Church fall festival/hayride at the Pannell's home. It was great fun.

Kate dressed as a faerie, and wow was that an experience. We planned for her outfit for days. We dyed her leggings yellow and cut them into strips, we bought green short to go over the leggings and a green shirt to match. We found her wings at a party store, we had to dye those too. We bought several cans of halloween hairspray paint to paint Kate's hair and body. We even used some spray glitter. She sparkled in the sunshine. She said that it was very cold when I was spraying the paint on. We painted her arms, legs, neck, feet, even her face. It's unbelieveable that it all washed off with soap and water and some lotion, no problem. Kate even glowed in the dark on the hayride.

Brandon dressed as an Army Soldier. Ready to fight for his country. We even spray painted one of his plastic guns to look like a gun that a soldier might carry. We bought his uniform at a military surplus store. They had lots of neat things in there. We will probably go back sometime soon to do more shopping.

(Monday)Part 2 of 2- Kate is out of School

Kate started her day off out of school getting new braces on her bottom teeth. We shopped for Fairy wings and had lunch with Meems. We went to the mall and of course Wal-mart.
Kate is fun to be with. We planned her halloween costume. She is such a smart girl. I wish I had been as smart as she is now, when I was her age.

(Thur-Fri)Part 1 of 2- School Holiday- Brandon is out of School

On Thursday Morning, Brandon, Jeffrey, and I loaded up in the truck and left for the condo on
Pensacola Beach, courteous of my friend, Sue Kennedy. We dropped our stuff off and then were off to the Naval Aviation Museum for a quick tour. Then we made a stop at a military surplus store for Brandon's Halloween Costume. We made it to the Condo early in the afternoon just in time for lunch. The boys swam in the pool, kayaked, walked on the shore and had a great time. We woke early on Friday morning to see the sun rise on the beach. We took a quick ride on the trolley and rowed the kayak some more. Brandon and Jeffrey had a genuine great time.

On Friday Tim came out and after school, Kate was able to join us. She also enjoyed the kayak. Unfortunately, the weather changed and got significantly cooler and very windy. We left the beach on Saturday morning around 9 am.

Beach Night

On Saturday night we went to Navarre Beach, just to walk along the shore and listen to the waves and feel the sand between our toes. The children ran and played, turned flips and had a general fun time. We saw a couple of people fishing. It was very relaxing.

Family Photos

Well, today we did not have church because of the expected Tropical Storm that didn't really show up. So we decided to do our long needed family photos. Thanks Jenna for providing the finger to click the camera and some great pose suggestions. We laughed a great deal and wouldn't you know it, the photographers kids were the worst posers.

A New School Year!

Kate is now in the 9th grade. She started Milton High School this year. WOW! I can't believe how she is growing up. I am so proud of her, she is such a good girl. She will also attend Seminary at the Church. This is such a great opportunity for her.

Kate attends Young Women's on Wednesday evenings at the church. She always has such fun there.

Brandon started 3rd grade. He is attending Santa
Rosa Christian School. He really likes it there. His friend Jeffy Stewart attends there also. Brandon has several friends from baseball that go there too.

Brandon is playing little league football this year in East Milton. He and Jeffy are on the same team.
Brandon is still involved with cubscouting, he is currently working on his Bear Badge.

Tim will be attending classes @ PJC. He will be working on his Bachelor's Degree. He wants to teach. Tim of course will continue to work full-time for Mediacom. He is doing exceptionally well. Which is par-for the course.

Allison is back at B. T. Washington High School. This is my 4th school year. I really enjoy getting into the classroom to teach. I will be returning to college in the winter. I hope to do mostly online classes. It is pretty hard already having a full-time job, a photography business, family responsibilities, cub scouts and extra-curriculars, I hope that my head doesn't explode with all of the stuff that I am going to be putting into it.

August 23, 2008

Wow! I am excited. I've wanted to do this for a while, now I am taking the time to do it.
Hopefully this will be a way for all of our family to keep up with us.
